This is the trekking version of our Doi Inthanon National Park day tour: all the highlights of Thailand's highest mountain, plus a 2-hour guided walk along the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail, a scenic ridge trail with sweeping views over the mountains and, on clear mornings, a sea of clouds below you. The trail is open from 1 November to 31 May, and the park's trekking permit and local guide are arranged for you.
Alongside the trek you'll stand on the highest point in Thailand, visit the twin royal pagodas, cool off at Wachirathan Waterfall, and browse a Hmong hill tribe market and a White Karen village. Lunch, entrance ticket, transport, an English-speaking guide and accident insurance are all included, and the join-in tour departs even for a single traveller.

⚠️ This trek operates 1 November – 31 May only. The Kew Mae Pan trail is closed for the rainy season, so travel dates from 1 June to 31 October cannot be booked.

07:00 – 07:30🏨 Hotel Pick-Up in Chiang Mai Your guide and air-conditioned vehicle collect you from your hotel in Chiang Mai city centre. We drive south-west towards Chom Thong district and begin the climb into Doi Inthanon National Park.

09:30🥾 Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail Trek (2 hours) Walk the ridge-top Kew Mae Pan trail with panoramic mountain and cloud views, accompanied by a local park guide as required by the park authority. A moderate, unpaved walking trail of about 2 hours.

💡 Frequently Asked Questions
💬 When does the Kew Mae Pan trek operate?
The trek runs from 1 November to 31 May. The trail is closed for the rainy season from June to October, so this tour cannot be booked for those travel dates.
💬 How difficult is the trek?
Moderate. The trail is about 2 hours on unpaved ridge paths with uneven ground. No technical climbing is involved, but you should be reasonably fit and comfortable walking outdoors for 2 hours.
💬 What should I wear and bring?
Closed walking or trail shoes, a sweater or light jacket (the summit is cold year-round), sun protection and a camera. Bring some Thai Baht cash for the Hmong market.
💬 Is there a minimum number of people?
The join-in tour has no minimum — we operate even for a single traveller. The private tour requires a minimum of 2 persons.
💬 Is lunch included, and can you cater for vegetarians?
Yes, a set Thai lunch is included. Vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be arranged if you tell us when you book.

- Out-of-area pick-up or drop-off is possible at an extra charge of 700 Baht per transfer per way (not per person)
