Spend a full day with the rescued elephants of Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in the Mae Wang valley, about 1.5 hours south of Chiang Mai. There is no elephant riding on this programme — instead you change into traditional Karen clothing, walk into the jungle to meet the herd, hand-feed them, join a therapeutic mud spa, and walk them down to the river for a bath and a swim.
Round-trip transportation, an English/Thai-speaking guide, insurance, a photographer, food for the elephants, snacks and a traditional Thai lunch are all included, so there is nothing extra to arrange once you book.

📅 Detailed Itinerary
📍 Hotel Pick-up in Chiang Mai
Your guide and vehicle collect you from your hotel or accommodation in Chiang Mai city.
📍 Drive to the Mae Wang Valley
An approximately 1.5-hour drive south of Chiang Mai through rolling hills, forest and local farming areas.
📍 Arrive at the Sanctuary
Meet your guide and walk 10–15 minutes through the jungle to the camp. Change into traditional Karen clothing and enjoy an introductory lesson on elephant anatomy, history and behaviour.
📍 Meet the Elephants
Feed, interact and play with the elephants in a natural environment while your guide explains their individual stories and behaviour. Plenty of time for photos.
📍 Lunch
Enjoy a traditional Thai lunch with fresh fruit at the camp.
📍 Herbal Medicine Balls & River Walk
Learn how to make herbal medicine balls for the elephants, feed them, then walk together down to the river to bathe and brush them.
📍 Mud Spa & Swim
Join the elephants for a therapeutic mud spa, then cool off with a swim in the river and more photos together.
📍 Change & Say Goodbye
Rinse off, change back into your own clothes and say goodbye to the elephants.

Q: What should I wear and bring?
A: Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy — you'll change into a traditional Karen outfit provided by the camp. Bring a full change of dry clothes, a towel and sun protection.
Q: Is this suitable for children?
A: Yes, children aged 4–9 pay the child rate. The programme involves walking, mud and water, so it suits children who are comfortable getting messy and swimming with guidance.
Q: Can infants join this tour?
A: This full-day programme is not recommended for infants under 4 due to the jungle walk, mud spa and river swimming. Infant-friendly options include our Half Day Visit and 2 Days 1 Night programmes.
